In this poster for the film 'Creep' they have used the principle of thirds along with hotspots to put the train in the full view of the audience. This also emphaisies the hand pressed up against the train window, along with traces of blood around the hand. This has the impact of giving the audience an insight into what has/is going to happen inside the train. It presents the audience with a sinister feelng assoicated with the train. The hand is also contrasted with a bright white colour from the window which brings it further into attention. Futhermore it also uses the same convention my previous poster analysis used which is not giving the audience the 'full stroy'; for example only showing the hand gives an ambigous image of what is in the train, giving it a scarier image. The writing at the top of the page is in red, this colour usually denotes love and passion, but in this sense along with the fuzzy font used with it it gives off a scary feeling. The film title (Creep) is also written in bold white which contrasts against the train, this puts it more into the viewers eye; there is also a 'splattering' feel to the font of the title, this is unconventional and it could also connote blood being 'splattered', giving the viewer a better sense as to what the film is going to be about. Route of the eye is also used with the first 'route' going along the top of the page capturing the reccomendations from a newspaper, the next 'route' then goes down the page diagonally capturing the sinister hand pressed up against the train, this emphasises its scaryess. The last 'route' goes across the bottom of the page, this emphasises the title of the film and also the tag line, 'Your Journey Terminates Here'. This tag line is used to give the audience an idea of what is going to happen on the train, and possibly the thinking that there will be casualties on the train.

Poster Analysis 1
In this film poster for 'The Ring Two' they have used a blurry image of the 'Ring Girl' as well as blacking out her face to present her with a mysterious/creepy persona which emphasises the scariness of the character. They have picked up on the general consensus which says that people are scared of the unknown and because of this they have not revealed the true identity of the character. They have placed her in the primary optical area, surrounded by the hotspots, which places our full attention on her which would in turn place more emphasis on my previous point. The 'girl' is dressed in white, surrounded by a black background which places more emphasis on her, the use of the contrasting colours puts even more of a sinister impression on the girl. The text above the character is also used as a tool to present a scary mood to the viewer; it is in white which contrasts the black background and the font itself is a slightly strange one which goes along with the tone of the poster. The 'O' at the end of 'Two' is in a much larger font than the other two letters; this is quite unusual and possibly connotes that the film isn’t looking to follow stereotypes and is looking not to follow the general conventions of a horror film. The poster also has many dead areas where nothing is which also emphasises the poster designers desire to put the viewers entire attention on the mysterious scary individual in the middle of the page. Route of the eye is also used; on the top line the title of the film is the main subject, where as when the line cuts down the middle the individual in the middle is the main object making the audience aware of her scary aura. The line going along the bottom focuses on the tag line, 'Fear Comes Full Circle' and also the movie companies name (DreamWorks), this reminds the viewer about who actually produced the film, and this would have the knock on effect of viewers looking for other films they have produced if they enjoy ‘The Ring Two’.
Coursework Brief
For my A2 coursework I will be creating a promotional package for a new film which will include a teaser trailer along with a magazine front cover featuring the film and a film poster. I will be working with Sam Stockbridge and I will start by doing some analysis of similar media products for my main tasks along with the ancillary tasks.
