In this film poster for 'The Ring Two' they have used a blurry image of the 'Ring Girl' as well as blacking out her face to present her with a mysterious/creepy persona which emphasises the scariness of the character. They have picked up on the general consensus which says that people are scared of the unknown and because of this they have not revealed the true identity of the character. They have placed her in the primary optical area, surrounded by the hotspots, which places our full attention on her which would in turn place more emphasis on my previous point. The 'girl' is dressed in white, surrounded by a black background which places more emphasis on her, the use of the contrasting colours puts even more of a sinister impression on the girl. The text above the character is also used as a tool to present a scary mood to the viewer; it is in white which contrasts the black background and the font itself is a slightly strange one which goes along with the tone of the poster. The 'O' at the end of 'Two' is in a much larger font than the other two letters; this is quite unusual and possibly connotes that the film isn’t looking to follow stereotypes and is looking not to follow the general conventions of a horror film. The poster also has many dead areas where nothing is which also emphasises the poster designers desire to put the viewers entire attention on the mysterious scary individual in the middle of the page. Route of the eye is also used; on the top line the title of the film is the main subject, where as when the line cuts down the middle the individual in the middle is the main object making the audience aware of her scary aura. The line going along the bottom focuses on the tag line, 'Fear Comes Full Circle' and also the movie companies name (DreamWorks), this reminds the viewer about who actually produced the film, and this would have the knock on effect of viewers looking for other films they have produced if they enjoy ‘The Ring Two’.
